This is my latest project which consumes all my spare-time. The model is based on the Scale-Jets large scale 1/5 F16 kit from Marijn Penninx but most
parts are by made myself due to weight saving needed on all items. Some glass-fiber fuselage parts have been laid up myself and other parts are
homemade as well, just take a look at the pictures below. The complete scale retractable landinggear has been measured and cad-drawn by myself
using the full-size aircraft
which has been visited several times, including the orange "Lion" prototype which I reproduced. For that many thanks to demo pilot Cpt.
Ralph "Sheik" Aarts and his crew
for giving me permission to visit the J-015 at Gilze-Rijen AFB during practise sessions for the 2009 season.
Making turbine engines is a second hobby of me
(see turbine page) and also the engine for this project has been designed and made by myself. It's a diversion from the good old KJ66 design
with larger compressor and turbine wheel which made a mammoth thrust increase from 8kg to approx. 20kg thrust with engine weight of only 1130gram.
This engine brings the
model's max speed up to an amazing 360km/h.
The model has made it's maiden flight 4th september 2010. Since than she made many flights to date. Highlight is the worldchampionship of JetWorldMasters 2011 held
at Dayton Ohio, USA. Model became second on static in largest 20KG class. Now working further on details like cockpit, wheel wells, markings and several other details.

Small brother, big brother!
Nice meet-up day with the Dutch F16 demoteam;
Here two video's showing most functional items on the model, including working flight display screens, lighting and ATC box!
Measuring the full-size orange bird at Leeuwarden Airforcebase for true scale and colorsceme dimensions,
many thanks to team crewmembers for great help and assistance! The paint on
the model is exactly the same as used on the full-size. Note, all flying pictures here are taken from the model! (No pilot yet....)
Here some nice movies:
Paintjob, original paint as per full-size spec. was used for this job, mixed at the same location!
