Saab JA37 Viggen
Eurojet Circus jetmeet France 1996; Trophy for best scale. My First jet engine powered model in 1995! Scale: 1/10 Length: 164cm Span: 106cm Mass: 6.1kg empty Mass Take-off: 7.6kg Fuel: Jet-A1, 1,5 liter PET tank. Engine: Homebuilt KJ66 turbine engine, 8kg thrust. Landinggear: Own design and hombuilt tanden wheel, brakes and pneumatic retracts. Fuselage: Glass fiber reinforced, eps wings construction. Max. speed: 300 km/u This is my very first jet model powered by my first homemade jetengine, very exitening period as everything had to be designed / engineered and built as there where ample parts available at that time. Lot's of trial ánd error but also lot's of fun during these times. The rc model "jet-age" was just starting with very little parts available, most had to be homemade. Very nice to be part of the prototyping and experimenting at that time.
